These images are from January 2022. I reached out to an artist I admire immensely for some mentoring. Callie Lynch is a magician with a camera and colors. She took me to lunch, letting me ask as many questions as I could before we went to Nathan + Michelle's beautiful home to practice. After we took our photos of the couple we went back to her home to talk about editing. It was such a defining experience for me because I got to learn from someone way further along on their journey. That wisdom is priceless. Doing workshops, taking a mentoring session, and investing in your passion is always money + time well spent. You cannot change my mind on this. :)
Nathan and Michelle are a BEAUTIFUL couple. They both shine so bright. Genuine people with big hearts. I got to know them from this experience, and from seeing each other at Currahee in Franklin, NC for trivia nights. They're big explorers, loving Yosemite very much, and constantly taking trips to see new places. They're always a joy for me to interact with, and people like that are golden. I remember editing these images (almost 2 years ago, wow) and being so proud. Callie's directions and pointers while doing this helped me get some really unique images that I love s'much. And that knowledge is now mine to pass along to those beginning their journey. It's neat.
Two years later, and I am still grateful for this mentor session. I also want to showcase how much I enjoy getting to do sessions like this. Being in your own space can really elevate the realness of your photos. Showcasing the simplicity of how beautiful your daily life truly is will always mean more than making a big to-do, if ya want my personal opinion. My blog, my rules, right? ;)
